Professional profile

Biography

Dr Narain is the founder and Director of Global Health Alliance UK. He works as a research cardiologist at St George’s University Hospital, London, and leads MRCP examination teaching programmes at hospitals across the UK. He established India’s first Royal College of Physicians of London-endorsed MRCP PACES course and has contributed to the design of the Foundation training programme for junior doctors in the West Midlands. His clinical work has included inherited heart disease and heart failure clinics, as well as association with coronary angioplasty programmes at two of the UK’s largest heart centres.

Dr Narain has participated in national and international heart-screening programmes since 2005, including screening for UK football and rugby league players. Alongside his cardiology career, he established a foundation supporting underprivileged communities in India. His professional roles have included membership of EAPCI and EAPCR, service on the European Society of Cardiology Council on Stroke, participation in the ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases, founding membership of an NHS international development group and directorship of The Heart Foundation UK. He has advised government and private medical institutions in India, presented at national and international conferences, and contributed to cardiology publications and research projects.
