Basic ECG Interpretation – 1 or 2 Day

This course is aimed at healthcare staffs who are involved with the performing and interpreting of ECG’s. This basic ECG interpretation course will provide you with the skills to understand and interpret basic ECG rhythms and arrhythmias. It will also enable you to identify an abnormal ECG in clinical situations.

The sessions with include:

Day 1

  • Cardiac anatomy
  • Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Understanding the normal ECG (waveforms, measurements & Intervals)

Day 2

  • Rhythms arising from the Sino-atrial node
  • Rhythms arising from the Atria
  • Rhythms arising from the Ventricles

The sessions will be interactive and provide practical examples of ECG’s for interpretation to support your learning. An onsite assessment of the fundamental aspects and basic ECG interpretation will be provided post course completion.

On successful completion you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

  • Identify a normal vs abnormal ECG

2 Day Course

  • The fundamental aspects of ECG interpretation
  • Identify a normal and abnormal ECG
  • Interpret basic Sinus, atrial and ventricular rhythms.
